Be Fully Convinced
I’m currently reading through Romans and have been inspired by so much that I’ve come across. One of those times was today when I read Romans 4:20-21 which says:
“Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promises. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.”
If you’re not familiar with who Abraham is, he is known as the father of faith. He demonstrated a faith that can truly be admired, but it wasn’t always perfect. There were times when he and his wife took matters into their own hands and tried to fulfill the promises in their hearts themselves. How many of you know that rarely goes well? I do! Even after these scenarios, God still kept his word and fulfilled His promises. The more Abraham’s faith & dependency increased, the more God was able to show up and do big things in his life. This is a great example for us today, encouraging us to hold firmly to God's promises, regardless of the circumstances we face.
When you have moments of doubt (which are completely normal and natural), lean into God. Lean into worship. Lean into the past when you’ve seen Him show up. The more you focus on that and believe in your heart that He is good, the more you will be strengthened and grow in your relationship with God.
Now, this message is not to dismiss any season you are in because life is HARD! If you are in one of those seasons right now, know that you are not alone & I can absolutely relate. If you continue reading through Romans, chapter 5 vs 3-5 says “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” That is such great news! All seasons change and will eventually move to the next. Your time is coming.
These verses should help us assess our level of trust in God. Do you believe He is faithful? Do you believe He sees you? Do you believe He is good? Are there areas in your life where you’ve allowed doubt or unbelief to overshadow your faith? Spend time really reflecting on these questions and ask God to help you with your unbelief. This will require spending time with Him to get to know His character better.
I hope this encourages you today! You all be well!
Much Love,
TC
